->> Anyone know how much Nikon charges for a replacement shutter? Sadly, I think mine crapped out tonight. I've read several threads in the message archive that give prices ranging from $200-$700. Also, do NPS members get a discount on repairs, or are they only given priority?

->> My D1X shutter was about $350 to fix back in May. But it was not under warrenty and taken to a local repair shop where a friend had his shutter replaced for the same camera. No problems since.

->> Thanks all for the phone calls and emails. I'm going to have my local camera repair shop look at it before sending it off. My fingers are crossed that I can get it done relatively inexpensively.
