->> I need your help. I am trying to get hold of Don Smith who was the San Jose Sharks team photographer; he ran an article here at SS.com (http://www.sportsshooter.com/news/243) a while back. Anyways I am trying to get a hold of him as well as a few other professional Hockey photographers so I can talk to them about setting up a net cam for the goalie. I got a lot of good information in the archives but I would like to talk to Don or maybe get a hold of Dave Klutho and see if I can get some of there incites on goalie cams. Scott Gaddini and I were hired to shoot the USA Juniors so we want to get this ready before then. That gives us until the 19th of December to get it all ready to go, but I would like to have it finished by the end of the month so I can give it a test run at a home game.
I found the NHL rules on the dimensions/color/safety of the box, I found some “decent” instructions on how to build one, but I would really like to talk to someone that has experience with one to get some more information about them.
Thanks!

->> There's a staff photographer at the Detroit Free Press in Michigan who has done some REALLY awesome netcam images at Red Wings games... you might want to consider contacting him as well.
If I could only remember his name. Shameful... completely shameful... ughh... I wish I had a brain to remember who these great shooters are,
anybody help me (and Mike) out?

->> You're most likely thinking of superniceguyandbadassshooter Julian H. Gonzalez - who unfortunately isn't a sportsshooter member...
Here's a link to images from the Red Wings 2002 season - there are lots and lots and lots of pictures posted. Unfortunately there are no thumbnail gallaries so you gotta sift through every page - one image per page. However there is at least one goal cam image under the "2001-2002 season" wallpaper section - in about the middle of the page:

->> Gonzales would be the guy I was thinking of! Thanks Nhat! (and you speak truth when you say he's a "superniceguyandbadassshooter.")
Some of his work was featured at the Free Press Open House in October as part of the NPPA FSC. He spoke a little bit about the netcams and sounds like a great resource if you can get ahold of him, Mike. Not to discount the other guys you're trying to contact, though...
best of luck,

| ->> Try Dave Sanford, he makes them and they are NHL approved. A company I shoot for is looking into having him make one for us too. His contact info is 519-878-0266 (NHL Images)or 519-455-9168 (Getty Images). |
