Photo Mechanic caveat (Windows)

->> If your Photo Mechanic password expired before the latest version came out and you're not sure if you want/need to pay for the upgrade just yet, be sure you don't install the new demo version overtop of your existing registered version because it won't let you demo the new version.
If you try it and then reinstall your licensed version back overtop of the new version again, it will still think you need a new password and lock you out of the program until you spend $90 for another year of updates.
You might be able to demo the new version by installing in a different folder, but I haven't tried it.
I also assume that uninstalling the whole thing and then reinstalling your licensed version will get things back to normal, but you'd lose all your preferences. I'm just gonna pay the $90. |

Hello Mr. Suratt,
I just saw your thread about problems with an expiring update password and a problem that occurs when demoing a newer version and then reverting to an older version that you are legitimately entitled to run. This is a bug that we didn't know about. I am sorry that this is happening to you and want to fix the problem. You shouldn't have to upgrade if you didn't want to. We will fix this bug as soon as possible in our next release. Unfortunately we can't fix bugs in older releases because they're already out there and beyond our control.
I will look into this problem and get back to you.
I cannot post to the Sports Shooter forums because I am not a member. Could you post something to your thread that explains that we are looking into this problem and that we
do not intend for this to happen?
Thank you,
-Kirk

->> I'll never cease to be impressed by software developers that actually check out user feedback on forums and respond to it. I'm not a photo-mechanic user right now, but this is one of those little things that will likely push me to buy it one of these days.
Bravo Camerabits !

->> Nic...for what it's worth...the staff at Camera Bits/Photo Mechanic are THE BEST IN THE BUSINESS. Kirk Baker constantly requests feedback from users and them IMPLEMENTS based on that feedback. He is a regular on the robgalbraith.com forum

I don't think there is anyone better at support and listening to the customer than Camera Bits. |
