->> Good points and bad points. They have contacted me about doing some of my printing. If you do use them - got a link to your galleries or such.

->> I just started with them a few weeks ago. So far all has been OK. The service has been good, they get right back to you with answers. I have yet to sell any print with them, maybe that will come in time. The S.F. 49ers photographer (Terrell Lloyd) works with them and he is is very happy with their services. My gallery is not sports as of now, I am planing to give them a try on some of my stadium shots. The name of the gallery is Back Roads.

->> Hey Michael

Look at the archives for much information. My shamless plug I have been using them, and have LOVED THEM.

They were recommended by a few top business photographers on this board, and I submitted a few test prints and have been very very happy with their customer service.

That is Key, I do not wish to waste my time printing myself, and do not mind the small fee they charge per image for resales.

Color, 100% dead on, and to date they have looked at my images and helped me make them better (process wise) for their workflow.

They have an ICC profile that helps you soft proof them.

->> I have been using Printroom for a few months now and have purchased more stuff than anyone else just for quality control purposes. I have found the prints to be excellent. You just have to keep cropping in mind when editing images for the site. Because of the flexibility of print sizes you can make available, the buyer may have to do some of their own cropping of images. The ordering site gives four cropping choices depending on the size print they order. The mugs, mousepads, etc. are great. You will definitely want a high-speed connection for uploading the images. You can also purchase extra server space if you need it and you have complete control over pricing and availability of print sizes and products.

Here's a link to my site:
http://www.printroom.com/ghome.asp?domain_name=actionphoto.

I'm still tweaking it a bit.

->> Michael:

I have used Print Room.com now for 2 years. Their prints are excellent! More importantly however their customer service is terrific. When a customer has a problem they are on it immediately and often times replace prints that were lost in the mail or a customer wanted a different way without delay. I hve had many notes from my customers that they really liked the quality of the pictures and the service. The beauty of the color quality is what they comment on most. I usually am very reticent to recommend things on a public forum but these guys are the ticket if you are going to try and sell images of qualilty on line.

->> Printroom.com does get a cut, but all you do is your basic color management and work flow.

Printroom collects your customers money, prints the images, pack them and ships them. You as the photographer get your pay out around the 15th of the month.

They are your partner, in that they make money when you make money. To date printroom has been very helpful to me, they even have Conference calls that help get started and using their service.

->> I have been using printroom since July and I have been nothing but happy with them. One customer was having a problem ordering images from multiple events and Jim at Printroom took his credit card info and processed the order.
I too am on a dial up but have found that their Pro Studio Manager to be the best thing since sliced bread. Thumbnails are uploaded in about 30 seconds and when an order is placed an email is sent to me notifying me of a sale. Uploading the fullsize image is between 4-7 minutes usually.
A sales report tells you how much in sales, your cut on each sale and a monthly total. Checks are mailed out on the 15th and mine is here by the 20th each month.

Jim has been more than helpful, he has been great! At his suggestion I got a domain of my own, then masked that over the printroom address. Now instead of
http://printroom.com/pro/indysportphotos I just tell people indysportphotos.com. Of course he told me that AFTER I had order 1000 business cards but, I ordered 1000 more with the new url as my website address and it was worth every dime. Got the cards from vistaprint.com so it was less than $20

I did quite a bit of research before going with printroom and am satisfied I made a right choice, I can highly recommend them with confidence.

->> I have been using them for almost a year now and have heard nothing but good things from my customers on the quality of the prints. Just talked to one of the dad's who had ordered a 20x30 and he just gushed about the quality... said it looked like an advertisement!

I have had a couple instances though of people having trouble navigating through a gallery and adding images to their cart only to try and checkout and either their cart is empty or they get kicked back to the home page or some other snafu. Or they think they have ordered a print, but really they just added the image to the cart and didn't actually change the "0" to a "1" next to the print size they want. One dad said he spent an hour going through all the images and ordering pictures and then got to his cart and nothing was there. He was so frustrated that he called me and complained about how difficult the site was to use and that he wasn't going to do it all again, so I lost his business.

But I guess it is par for the course that some people will have trouble. And out of the hundreds of dollars worth of prints that I have sold, I can count the number of people that have had trouble on one hand. And anytime I have had questions or was trying to help a customer with their problem, the folks at Printroom were very quick to respond and were always able to help get things back on track.
