iViewMedia Pro 1.5 to 2.5 upgrade worth it?

->> I've been using iViewMedia Pro 1.5 for a while and find it's ok for my cataloging needs though it's kind of clunky at times.

Were there any "gotta upgrade because it does this now" things added when they did the 2.5 upgrade, or should I just save my money?

BTW, I use Photo Mechanic to do the quick editing and IPTC stuff. I use iView for the cataloging and contact sheets, though PM is replacing it for contact sheets because of those cool variables and the awesome support they have on robgalbraith.com.

So, anyone found something to die for in the v2.5 upgrade?

->> Greg, I have both.
The only major advantage I've found is that they eliminated the 34000 (or whatever) limit on images in a catalog.
I don't really like the way Keywords are handled now, it was so simple in 1.5.
So, if you don't do tons of stuff, I'd probably not do it.

->> Thanks Worth,

Their site talks about drag 'n drop annotating and things like autoloading images into catalogs from drop folders. Have those got some major gee-whiz points?

I wasn't impressed with iView's customer service attitude when I tried to get some answers from them. They never even acknowledged emails. That, plus there wasn't anything on their website that made the upgrade seem essential, kept me from upgrading previously.

On the other hand, PM's developer was right there and taking suggestions and offering tips; He scored major kudo points for them with me with that simple gesture.

There's some overlap between the two programs, and PM is being developed and enhanced aggressively so I imagine those overlaps will continue to grow.
