| ->> This past weekend I shot a 4 plus hour blues concert. I noticed all the shooters with the Canon 1D "talking" into their cameras. The 1D has the microphone for captioning while the Nikon D1X does not. Has anyone used the grip for the D100 which has this feature? opinion on it? |

| ->> Yea, used it on a loaner body and enjoyed the feature. You can listen to the recording during playback on camera (and I think in PhotoMechanic later). Only played with it for a sec, but holds great potential when you're out in the field. |

->> From the PhotoMechanic 3 user guide: "Images
containing sounds will also have a sixth sound button included." This appears on the contact sheet display. We have two cameras on order, whenever they show I can let you know more specifics. |

->> Last year I shot a kodak DCS 720x. It had a mic. It was great. I'd record the jersey numbers of plays if I douldn't see them in the image. Made ID's a ton easier. Kodak packaged software that displayed the image and allowed playback of the recording.
Wish my D60 had it. |

| ->> I downloaded Photo mechanic 3, the update which has the sound for the microphones for the D100 grip. However, when I open up the contact sheet I do not see the microphone. Will it only appear on the images where the grip was used? (I did a test tonight without the grip-I don't have it yet) with Photo Mechanic 3 and I was told i would see the microphone, but I don't. |

| ->> I doubt you see the mic until sound is actually recorded. |

| ->> I have use the mic in the D100 and it is ok. But the best thing is you have a second battery and can shoot forever with it. I shot for five or six days before having to charge. |
