->> OK, so you guys offer a t-shirt and a hat....what about something useful like a nice Sports Shooter fleece vest for those of us in not-so-warm Southern California? You know it gets cold up here in the Northeast :0)

->> Hmmmm......a Speedo? Nah, probably not for me, I can't stand even seeing myself in boxers.......
But a fleece vest, yes-sir-eee-grover, I can see that! |

| ->> How about the ultimate Sports Shooter photo vest? I'm currently looking for a Nikon Vestrap and can't find one, but I'd drop that search in a second to get the officially sanctioned Bert-and-company Sports Shooter vest :) |

| ->> I really want my very own unofficial mascot of Sports Shooter, the Sports Shooter Chimp (the kind grandma used to make out of gray socks). Every good photog needs a chimp. Just ask Bogdon. |

| ->> That fleece idea is definitely a good one. What we really need is a nice SportsShooter foam drink cooler for keeping your soda and/or assorted adult beverages cool while transmitting after the game. Nothing is worse than finding out that your laptop is dead AND your beverage is warm. |
|

Doug Holleman, Photographer

Temple | TX | USA | Posted: 8:19 PM on 07.20.02 |
->> How about a Speedo that converts into an elastic camera strap (and vice versa)? Someone posted a thread about fanny packs, I think a Sports Shooter pack would freakin' rule! Also, maybe we can get PhotoFax to put a Sports Shooter logo on the big lens raincoats. I need to get one of those anyway.

| ->> I have another idea. Why not post a full-size Sports Shooter logo on the site that we can print out ourselves on sticker paper so we can slap "Sports Shooter" on everything in site? |
|

Ben Liu, Photographer, Student/Intern

Madison | WI | USA | Posted: 9:43 PM on 07.20.02 |
| ->> So many good ideas! But first, Grover, that Speedo idea sounds good... I happen to be a swimmer. I also like the idea of having a sports shooter mascot sock puppet. Finally, i second the idea of a full-size Sports Shooter logo that can be printed out on sticker paper. i want "Sport Shooter" on my big glass |
|

Joe Gosen, Photographer

Santa Barbara | CA | USA | Posted: 11:47 PM on 07.20.02 |
| ->> Because of the popular response, I'm now thinking that we need a Sports Shooter fleece that is really a photo vest that doesn't look like a photo vest. It will be the Sport Shooter fleece non-photo vest. It will keep warm things warm and cold things cold (kind of like the McDLT). A pocket to keep beverages cold for Mike Morones, another pocket for Doug Holleman's Speedo/camera strap, and a piece of velcro to stick the Sports Shooter chimp on your back. Any thoughts? |

->> Gosen...you are absolutely KILLING me. Go back to grading papers and leave me alone.
We will take all suggestions into account and decide what I need to spend my own hard-earned money on next to stock the store.
What about sweatshirts? We are really reading all the posts and once I get real rich (which won't happen if there is a baseball strike or lockout) I will be looking to invest in some more high quality items with the Sports Shooter logo on them.
Gosen- howabout a productive suggestion for a change? Thanks.
In case you guys don't realize it- I am kidding...really- Joe can take it. |

->> Why not get some nice, multiple color patches (and stickers) of the SS logo made. That way, we can attach them to whatever we want, beit a polo, a fanny pack, a Domke bag/satchel, etc.
Just my 2¢.

->> Brad,
I think the answer is http://www.cafepress.com
You can upload the logo and sell caps, mousepads, bucket hats, etc...
There would be no need to stock on spec. Cafepress just produces the item as people order. |

And a separate one that says, “If you can read this, you are too close!”
Gosen can put THAT on his sock monkey! |

->> I was wearing my SportsShooter hat the other day covering NCAA sports, and someone asked me if I was a recreational hunter. Keep in mind I'm standing on the sidelines with two bodies, two good sized lenses, and "shooting" the game.
I told the person questioning me it was an arm of the NRA, he said "right on!" and moved on. |

->> Burf:
I fully support your right to carry a gun. I poke fun of everyone and every organization. I just could not believe this guy thought Sports Shooter was a hunting thing, when I was clearly standing there with my cameras aimed at the field.
I'm not a fan of using guns, I prefer using cameras. If I was using guns I'd stick with the Glock 19, nice weapon, well balanced, fits nicely in a leg holster, clip never jams......but I won't go into how I know. |

->> Okay . . . here is my idea for new sports shooter product . . . knee pads. The right one would have the word "Sports" and the left "Shooter" just the thing for NFL games and cold northern football games! I'm think lime green tiger stripes on the elastic and logo on each pad under the words. Okay, so now you know why I shoot sports and not fashion.
Seriously. Count me in for the vest. Tan with interior pockets to keep batteries warm. I'm not sure I want the monkey - got too many on my back as it is =)
Steve - some target shooters like to refer to themselves as "Sports Shooters". The dude probably thought you were in to shooting holes into harmless targets.
David G. thanks for the tip on cafepress. |

Ah well. We'll have to be content to be a 'secret society' of sorts. (lol) |

Almost to a person, they asked where they could get one because they thought it had something to do with the "shooting" sports (no pun intended). Funny thing...peoples perceptions...eh! |
