->> i put a bid on a Yahoo auction a few weeks ago and got tons of email from scammers.
I heard a story of a guy who was selling a Mac laptop and was contacted by a scammer. He eventually sent him a 3 ring binder that was 'dressed' up to look like a mac. I can't remember were I read about it, but it was funny!
My favorite one was a 'virus' email that said your computer had a virus, and that if you go here, click that and then delete a certain file, you would have fixed the problem. Well, what you were really doing was deleting a file your computer needed to run, the "virus warning" was the virus. A virtual virus. |

Here's the link to the guy who got the scammer with his "notebook" computer. It's a bit long but definitely worth the read.

->> I saw an e-mail "virus" that was just a text message stating that you had just received the virus. However, the message continued, the virus writer really didn't have any programming knowledge and relied on the honor method. The message asked for you to forward the virus to everyone on your e-mail list and delete your hard drive.

| ->> Basically you take the check, deposit it, send the product, only to find out that the check is counterfeit and not deposited after all. |
