What substance for burning bat?

->> If you're wanting the illusion of a swinging bat on fire, you might consider having the batter stand still in a swing motion with a fan to blow the flames backward. I doubt you're going to have the right light to show a flame in motion unless you seriously douse that thing.
Another thing you can consider is gluing a bunch of 4th of July sparklers to the bat. |
