| ->> hey guys, good to see this is up now, i had a question, im not really sure what we are supposed to post on here but i am considering purchasing the 70-200 2.8. i need to know what you guys think of the IS vs. non IS versions. I am a photojournalism major in school so i will be doing some straight documentary work along with a few weddings on the side. also plan to shoot a ton of sports. is it worth it or should i put the money in the 1D fund? |

Oh, and by the way, congrats one being the first person to post to the new message board. |

We do this site out of pure love and dedication for the sport photography biz.
Well, we also do it to improve life on earth. And to save lives, too. Oh, and to promote clean air. And to "support the troops over there".
And also to remind everyone to FLOSS DAILY!
That's why we do this site. (But you probably knew that already.) |

->> Way cool! First posts on a new message system are always fun to read later on, especially if the users of the system didn't know it was coming! I remember doing that in the 1970's, when we replaced a single-user-at-a-time bbs board on an Atari with M-Net, an Altos 68000, giving people conferences and full access to UNIX, along with multi-users and multi-tasking; to say people were overwhelmed would be an understatement.
What really makes this system so great, is the wonderful people that come here, and all the information shared around! |

I mean how many topics can photographers really discuss. Maybe we'll visit a few times a month and talk about a few good pics or talk about lenses.
I just hope this thing doesn't turn into a discussion about donuts.
