Instead, a well- schooled southpaw named George Scott buried Gibbins with a barrage of jabs, hooks and inadvertent elbows and won a majority decision for the WBC Continental Americas super lightweight title at the Hyatt Regency in Atlanta, GA. Approximately 1,200 witnessed the event, including heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield, past champs Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier, and other sports celebrities
