Filling the feeders outside of the sunroom where Maryanne always enjoyed sitting to watch the birds, Darell begins the process of going on with his life. He said he will stay in Abilene until Jonathan graduates from high school and then perhaps move to south Texas to be closer to Joanna and another son, Jeremy. Without Maryanne, he said, the house is too big and too full of memories for him to stay.
