Alfred | June 9, 2007, San Diego, California, USA - Hundreds of surfers paddled out for a memorial at Windansea Beach in La Jolla, CA, to honor Emery Kauanui, a 24-year-old professional surfer who was beaten to death in late May. Kauani's ashes were spread by his mother from a lifeguard boat at the surf spot he grew up surfing.
