January, 2005 [ recent winners ] << previous next >> Second Place: "Passenger Train Crash" Darryl Dyck/Edmonton Sun | Firefighters, RCMP officers and Via Rail employees pass luggage over a fence to load onto a bus after a logging truck collided with a Via Rail train causing all it's cars to derail in the hamlet of MacKay, Alta., on Monday January 31, 2005. Nobody on the train suffered serious injuries. The driver of the logging truck was transported by STARS Air Ambulance to Edmonton. MacKay is approximately 140km west of Edmonton.
