Third Place: "Georg from Beslan"
Sascha Fromm/Thueringer Allgemeine | Georg, 6, from Beslan, looks through a bus window shortly before his way back to Beslan after the daily visit at the Republican Psychosocial Rehabilitation Centre in Vladikavkaz, capital of North Ossetia, on November, 10, 2004. A Lenin statute is reflected in the window. UNICEF is assisting the centre as part of its psychosocial support for the children of Beslan. The Beslan tragedy is the worst terror-related human catastrophe in the history of Russia. There are at least 344 victims, mostly children, who died as a direct result of this terror act. Over 700 victims, also mostly children, have been hospitalized, a large number of them with very serious injuries Copyright: Sascha Fromm / Thueringer Allgemeine
