October, 2004 [ recent winners ] << previous next >> First Place: "LOST IN A FOG OF SMOKE" Dan Powers/The Post-Crescent (Gannett) | Grand Chute and Town of Menasha firefighters battle a house fire occupied by the Steve and Joan Moericke family Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004, in Grand Chute, Wis. Five of the couple's eight adopted children are living at home. Joan Moericke said that she called 911 and evacuated the house with two children and three dogs who were home at the time of the fire. There were no injuries.
