| Matthew Hinton | People watch as bicycle riders were bare as they dared as they took part in the 13th annual World Naked Bike Ride New Orleans in the French Quarter Saturday, June 12, 2021. The group was much larger this year because of a lessening of COVID-19 restrictions. World Naked Bike Ride NOLA states on its website that the purpose of the ride is to promote a cleaner, safer, body-positive world to the masses in a free, non-sexual, fun bike ride. “Our mission is to take to the streets riding nude as the best way of defending our dignity as humans on bikes. We expose just how vulnerable we are as cyclists on our own city streets. We also ride to protest the world's oil dependency, mainly cars, that negatively impacts the environment on this planet.” Copyright: Matthew Hinton |
