Third Place: "Five for 5th Ward Weebie"

| Matthew Hinton | As the Roots of Music marching band plays, a pallbearer raises his hand to symbolize the number five at the funeral of Jerome “5th Ward Weebie” Cosey, a bounce music pioneer and rapper know for the songs ‘Let Me Find Out’ and ‘Get Out the Way’ Thursday, January 9, 2020 at the Mahalia Jackson Theater in New Orleans, followed by a second line down Orleans Ave. Mayor LaToya Cantrell and U.S. Representative Cedric Richmond helped eulogize Cosey. Many musicians were in attendance including Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews and Big Freedia. Cosey was 41-years-old and died from complications from a heart attack. He made music with Drake, Snoop Dogg, Master P, and Mystikal and was also known for the song “F— Katrina” released in 2006 after Hurricane Katrina.
