"I try to only blanket in extreme situations because if horses are allowed to grow their full winter coat and are provided with excellent quality food, they are built to keep themselves warm naturally," Luman said, "Because this was a super dramatic cold snap, we blanketed them. They hadn't had enough time to get all fluffed up for the chilly weather. We'll pull the blankets when the temperatures stabilize to give them a chance to be blanket free again." Copyright: Sarah A.
