The Zoo also provides year-round 100% landfill free cell phone recycling services at Toronto Zoo in Toronto. April 20, 2019. Since 2006 the Toronto Zoo provides cell phone recycling service. By recycling old cell phones, it reduces demand on an element called tantalum, found in a mineral called coltan, that is usually found in parts of Africa native to the Apes.
