Federal and state laws don't forbid it, as long as you are using your own money to buy it, and are not giving it to a minor or someone who is otherwise legally prohibited from owning one. Gun sales nationwide are soaring, they peak around Black Friday, and sales statewide are expected to reach record levels in 2013, about double what they were in 2007.
