April, 2011 [ recent winners ] << previous next >> Second Place: "Alive" Sascha Fromm/Thueringer Allgemeine | Truck driver Karl-Heinz Rausch from Bitburg, covered with a blanket, stand next to his burnt out truck on early morning of April 19,2011 at the highway 4 near Gotha, Germany. The truck was carrying tons of beer when a tire burst, skidded and crashed through the guard rail. Karl-Heinz Rausch was able to leave the burning truck immediately and was not injured. The car burned out completely. Rausch could only save his mobile phone and wallet.
