Sports Shooter 1999 Contest Winners
Here are the winners from the Second annual Sports Shooter Photo Contest.

Winners were awarded prizes thanks to the generous donations from the following people: Bruce Kwitny of Roberts Distributors; Jason Ness and Wayne Shipman of Kodak; Bob Luce of Fujifilm; Chuck Westfall of Canon USA; Ron Taniwaki of Nikon; Larry Nolan of Versa-Flex and Jeff Snyder of Penn Camera.

This years contest was judged by Wally Skalij of the Los Angeles Times, Peter Read Miller of Sports Illustrated and Robert Hanashiro of USA Today. Special thanks to Nikon for hosting the judging in their Torrance, CA office.

The final moments of the 1999 Womens World Cup, at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, came down to a shootout after 90 minutes of regulation time and two sudden death overtime periods ended in a 0-0 tie. The game winning shot came down to the USA's Brandi Chastain being able to score against the goalkeeper for China.
