Howdy!
Time for a update. I’ve posted some of my favorite images from the last year. Some are from the pros, some high school, some small college.
Lately I've been playing with a thermal imaging device made by the Fluke corporation. One of my friends is an engineering director there and loaned me the device for a few weeks. It uses an uncooled microbolometer sensitive to radiation in the 8-14 um range. This is long wave IR or heat. The sensor has a resolution of 240x320, thus the pixelation in the images. I brought the device to several recent track, swim and basketball events and shot quick candids when I had some down time. You can really see the hot blood flowing in some of these.
For those that don’t know me, I’m a freelance photographer based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I cover everything from high school to the pros. I also have worked as an electrical engineer in the R&D labs at 3M and Honeywell for over 20 years. I love applying my technical skills to photographic problems.
My work has appeared in Sports Illustrated, ESPN the Magazine, Sports Illustrated-Kids, USA Today, and TV Guide.
Regards,
Tom
