| Image © 2008, Terry Barner || A passerby walks atop a chalk drawing made by Steven Mincey that is part of Banned Books Week at Gulf Coast Community College in Panama City, Fla. The drawings, located between the college's students unions, are part of the 27th-annual, nationwide observance of Banned Books Week. The college's library also has an exhibit of banned theatrical and literary works targeted for removal somewhere in the U.S. According to the American Library Association, more than 400 books were challenged in 2007. |
