Some recent pix from a day that I spent up atop Kayford Mountain in south central West Virginia where I got to watch the carnage that is mountaintop removal coal mining. Massive machines work 24hrs a day chewing up and spitting out entire mountain ranges. This scourge has destroyed and is continuing to destroy hundereds of mountains in the Appalachians in the search for coal. These images are part of an ongoing personal project of mine to document the MTR issue from a variety of angles.
=========================
I am a freelance photographer who orbits between the beautiful mountains of western NC near Asheville and the New River Gorge area of south central West Virginia near Fayetteville. I specialize in outdoor adventure, lifestyle, landscapes, and aerial images for the commercial, advertising, and editorial markets.
I like to travel as much as the next guy, but my main love is staying here and exploring the wonderful Appalachian mountain ranges. From PA to GA... there's no more beautiful place to be!!
I am well versed in digital photography and RAW workflow. I can work on short notice usually and on tight deadlines. I aim to please!
So call me with your upcoming image needs and let's see what kind of fantastic images we can work on together.
