These images are from my internship with The Dispatch and the Rock Island Argus based in Moline, IL. I'm originally from the area so it was cool to cover my hometown- the Quad-Cities. I've been here since May and am currently looking for a job or another internship to pick up when my time here finishes at the end of December.

I'm a recent graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Advertising from the College of Media. I spent a lot of my time over the last few years shooting as a staff photographer (since 2005) with the Daily Illini, the independent student newspaper at UIUC. I was photography editor of the paper for part of last year before I went on a 6-month study abroad program in New Zealand. Starting in June 2007, I attended the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand and volunteered as a photographer for the student magazine, The Critic. Whilst backpacking through the mountains of that beautiful country I realized that I didn’t want to spend my life inside the office of an advertising agency, and that I enjoyed photojournalism way too much to stop. I got back into the USA in January 2008 and made a commitment to shooting as much as possible and building my portfolio. Since May I've been interning with the photo staff of The Dispatch and the Rock Island Argus based in Moline, IL
