Esther Otis, 15, of the Grier School in Tyrone, Pa., dances with a Carson Long cadet during a fall dance. Dances are held about once a month with local all-girls schools. Because the boys hit the floor with virtually no knowledge about the young women, it takes about an hour for them to work up the courage to ask for a dance, or to dance their way into a circle of girls. |
