Image © 2010, Matthew Hinton || Many species of bird are only distinguished by color and sometimes feathers that stick up from the back of the head. But when covered with oil the feathers don't stick up and the color is not discernible leaving only a bird that resembles several species. A heavily oiled bird that resembled a heron but was difficult to identify because of the coloring of the oil from the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill gets stuck on oil boom near Cat Island, Barataria Bay, Louisiana Saturday June 26, 2010.
