The new G5
Steve Jobs and Apple Computers caught the attention of world last week with the announcement of the first 64-bit, G5 processor personal computer with speeds up to dual 2GHz. If you're looking for speed, lighting quick graphics and just plain being cool with the fastest machine on the block, give me a call to place your order now. Samy's Camera is an authorized reseller of Apple Computers, so whether you want the new G5 desktop or a very sweet 12-inch PowerBook to work on the road with, we can serve all of your compute and digital needs.

There has been a lot of "buzz" in the last several weeks about the fate of a long-time photojournalist favorite, the Domke Bag. Designed by PJ Jim Domke, these wonder, utilitarian bags are in VERY short supply because of financial difficulties of Domke Bag's parent company. Samy's has a FEW items left in stock, including the Gripper Straps, padded inserts and a few bags, both in the original cloth and ballistic nylon materials. Give me a call to see if we might have what you're looking for in stock. I will let you all know if we find out anything more on the fate of the Domke line of bags.

In the mean time, if you need a bag now, I might suggest looking at several others we carry, notably the Lowepro AW series. These bags, designed with the digital photographer in mind carry an assortment of gear and a laptop. Also, give me a call about a Sports Shooter favorite, the Lightware Digital Backpack.

Nikon 12 - 24mm ED IF AF-S
Nikon has announced a couple of interesting new zoom lenses, PJs and Sportsshooters should find useful: the 12 - 24mm ED IF AF-S and the 24 - 120 ED IF VR AF-S. Give me a call to find out pricing and availability.

And speaking of Nikon, last month I told you about the new CoolPix 5400. We now have this fabulous point & shoot in stock. If you are looking for a small camera to take around when your big D-SLR is too much, like out to dinner at a nice spot you found in the SportsShooter.com Guide ... this is the camera for you. Don't let its tiny size fool you, it is a 5-mega-pixel camera with unbelievable image quality. If you're in the LA, drop by and take to look!

We also have the Canon G5 point & shoot IN STOCK!

Some quick equipment notes: Digital camera Battery has come out with a fast charger, which they say will top your battery in two hours ... we still have refurbished Fuji s2 cameras in stock for a great price of $1399.00 and Olympus has announced they will start delivering a digital SLR in September.

Samy's Camera has four stores in Southern California to serve all of your needs, Pasadena, Santa Barbara, Venice and or main store in Los Angeles. Also visit us on the Internet at: http://www.samys.com/.
