2002 Baseball Hall of Fame contest Best of Show.
H.O.F. Winners Announced

The Associated Press was the big winner in the annual Hall of Fame Contest, with four winning entries, including Kevork Djansezian, for "Best of Show".

The annual contest is sponsored by the Baseball Hall of Fame, Major League Baseball and JPMorgan Chase.

Sports Shooter to speak at ASMP gathering

Robert Hanashiro, founder/editor/publisher of the Sports Shooter Newsletter will be the featured speaker at the San Diego monthly meeting of the ASMP.

The event will be held at 7:30 at 2308 Kettner Blvd. Ste. C and is also open to non-ASMP photographers and students.

Hanashiro, a staff photographer with USA TODAY, will be speaking on digital cameras and sports photography. He also will be showing the "Sports Shooter at the 2002 World Series Video."

Sports Shooter Annual Contest Judging

The judging of the Annual Sports Shooter Contest will be held at Nikon's Torrance, CA offices on Feb. 7.

The finals of the judging will be open to Sports Shooter Newsletter subscribers and SportsShooter.com members. A few seats for the open judging session, to start promptly at 7:30 pm, are available. To reserve a seat for the open judging session, send an email to contest2002@sportsshooter.com. In the subject field, type in "Reservation" and in the body of the email, tell us your name, occupation or school you attend.

Confirmations will be emailed out early next week.

The judging panel includes: Wally Skalij (Los Angeles Times), Peter Read Miller (Sports Illustrated), Deanne Fitzmaurice (San Francisco Chronicle), Rick Rickman (NewSport), Brad Mangin (SportsShooter.com) and Ronal Taniwaki (Nikon). Robert Hanashiro will moderate the event.

The Annual Sports Shooter Contest is sponsored by Nikon, Versa-Flex, AquaTech, Canon, Roberts Distributors, Lightware, LPA Designs, Mamiya, Lowepro, Penn Camera and Fujifilm.
