Sports Illustrated staff photographer (and SportsShooter.com member) Al Tielemans spent a rough day last May photographing the Philadelphia Eagles cheerleaders for their 2002 Cheerleaders Lingerie Calendar.

The calendar runs from September 2002 through December 2003. To quote the Eagles website, "We haven't just pushed the envelope- we've ripped it open!"

The Eagles are selling the calendars via the club's Web site (http://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/store/product.asp?dept%5Fid=22&pf%5Fid=641&

sku=12%2D1902) and catalog for $12.99. They're also on sale at the team's stadium and at a variety of retail locations in the Philadelphia area.

The initial printing totaled 15,000 calendars, said Len Komoroski, senior vice president of business operations for the Eagles. Komoroski also said the Eagles believe this is the first time that a pro sports team's cheerleading squad has produced a lingerie calendar.

To publicize the calendar, Hollywood Tans, a national chain of tanning salons, sponsored a fashion show and reception at the team's corporate headquarters.

Tielemans will be available to autograph your calendar at a football stadium near you this Fall.

Sports Shooter Workshop & Luau Update.

Over 220 people have registered for the Nov. 1 - 2 Sports Shooter Workshop & Luau.

In the past month organizers have added freelance sports shooter Dave Black and Andy Hayt as well as USA Today's Jack Gruber to the line-up of speakers.

Black and Gruber will be presenting a session on Covering the Olympics and Hayt will be conducting a session titled Working with Athlete and Teams.

At the moment Workshop & Luau director/ program chair Robert Hanashiro has started a waiting list for people registering. However he has indicated that he anticipates opening up more room in the Workshop & Luau soon.

"We want to accommodate as many students as we possibly can. We just cleared off all of the students that were on the waiting list. We hope to add more working pros soon," Hanashiro said.
The Sports Shooter Workshop & Luau will be held at the Manhattan Beach Marriott Hotel and is free to full-time students and interns. There is a nominal fee for working professionals.
