First Annual Sports Shooter Photo Contest
By Robert Hanashiro

Canon, Kodak and Nikon have all graciously donated items for prizes (just what you need, another fanny pack or monopod cover!). This is a real low key contest and I want to have fun with it. The categories are:

1) Best Sports Image Without a Ball (or puck)/shot on film
2) Best Sports Image Without a Ball (or puck)/shot on digital
3) Best Sports Image Not Involving Pro or College Athletes/shot on film
4) Best Sports Image Not Involving Pro or College Athletes/shot on digital
5) Best Action (film or digital)
6) Best Jube/Dejection (film or digital)

-All images must have been shot between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 1998.

-Only photographers on the Sports Shooter Mailing List (you receive SptShtr via email) are eligible.

-All categories are single images.

-Category 1 and 2 is pretty self explanatory: images without a football, baseball, basketball, puck, etc. Features would qualify in this category.

-Category 3 and 4 should be images shot at high school, little league or other similar event.

-Entries are limited to two per photographer.

-Submissions should be on floppies. 72 DPI with one dimension between 6-7 inches. Save the file as a JPEG.

-The "file info" of the image must have the photographer's name, email address, category and a full caption.

-Deadline is Jan. 15, 1999.

-Entries should be sent to:
Robert Hanashiro
P.O. Box 55742
Valencia, CA. 91385-0742

-Winning entries will be posted on the Sports Shooter Archive website.
