TECH NOTES:

- Apple has announced a recall of the AC adapters for G3 PowerBooks shipped between May 1998 and March 2000. Replacements are already being received by those who have requested a new power supply via Apple's website: http://exchange.info.apple.com/exchange/. There has been a lot of Internet rumors that Apple is also recalling the "UFO" power supplies that came with the original iBook and the G3 Firewire PowerBook (Pismo), but so far there has been no official announcement from Apple.

- Take a look at a new feature on the Orlando Sentinel's web site for a peek into what could be the future for "newspaper" photojournalism. The Sentinel's online version has added multimedia elements to the traditional slide show/picture gallery concept used by most web sites. Of particular note is the featured showcase of staff photographer George Skene's work from Cuba. Combining images, sound and text impressions from Skene, the whole presentation has an elegant feel, while not losing its journalistic feel. Also note a video made by staffer Red Huber from the paper's "EagleWatch" project. Check it out at: www.orlandosentinel.com/broadband/.
