News From Roberts
By Jody Grober, Roberts Distributors

Hello to all of the "Sports Shooters" loyal readership and to those of you that are new to this grand newsletter.

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Jody Grober and I am attempting to follow in and fill the shoes of Bruce Kwitny. Bruce has left our happy home to pursue a very exciting project he has been working on for the past couple of years. I can say little more than that at this time (actually many of you have been more aware of his plans than I have).

I trust you will all join with me in wishing him the best of luck and good fortune in his new endeavor.

I would like to congratulate Jay LaPrete for winning in the division Roberts sponsored in the annual photo contest. He will be the lucky recipient of a Stealth backpack.

Everything new and exciting:

NIKON:

D-1s are finally going to be more readily available and you might want to place an order soon in that prices will be going up any day.

The 17-35/2.8 AF-S is still on waiting list so get your name in, but the 28-70s will be rolling in. All the long AF-S is in stock. We also have plenty of the 85 Micro PC.

CANON:

The word on the 1v is mid April and the queue is growing. Everyone is very excited....over 70 seals, 10 fps, magnesium alloy and aluminum body and chassis, 45 point area AF and much more.

The A-20 digital point and shoots are finally in stock. The first 3+ MegaPixel camera to hit. This is the one you stick in your shirt pocket (cigarette pack size) and you still get a 9 Mb image. This is the camera that will replace the T1 and T2s that we all used in the old day just for our fun personal quickies.

REMINDERS:

- The LightWare MultiMates (wheel kits for Multi Format cases) are an in stock item now.

- We are still having great response to the FotoStation image management software from FotoWare. There is more info on our web site, www.robertsimaging.com, or on their site, www.fotostation.com.

We still have plenty of the FlashWizard custom kits with 1 sender and 2 receivers and for the "Sports Shooter" readers they're going for $569.00. Make sure you mention the "Sports Shooter" when you call to get the special price.

Roberts would like to invite all of you to receive our own NEW newsletter. It will cover many topics across the photographic industry and will also offer special sales and promotions to only newsletter subscribers. Please e-mail me at jgrober@robertsimaging.com and I will place you on the list.

FINALLY:

It's going to be a madhouse in INDY in a couple of weeks. The world capitol of amateur sports (..that's Indianapolis...) is hosting the FINAL FOUR yet again. But this time it is special because it is the first year that the NCAA headquarters is right here in downtown INDY. And most exciting of all...is that not only does the "Hall of Champions" open that weekend, and the 4 best teams in college basketball play here that weekend, but Roberts has invited all of you to party with us on Friday night at our downtown store! Good food, good cheer and the perfect chance to meet old and new friends. Personally I am very excited to meet everyone that can make it. I have spoken to many of you on the phone I can't wait to put faces to those voices.

The party will at our downtown store: 255 S. Meridian (1 block from Conseco Fieldhouse and 2 blocks from the RCA Dome). It will start at 6:00 p.m. on Friday the 31st and run until we kick you out. You can call for info or directions at 800-726-5544 or local at 636-5544.

So until then make sure you're having fun!
