In February 2010 many of the world’s greatest athletes will gather in Vancouver, British Columbia. Hundreds of the world's best sports photographers will also be there to cover the Olympic Games. From high-speed Alpine skiing to the graceful art of figure skating, skilled photographers will capture memorable images with both film and digital still cameras. And Canon, will be there to provide on-site camera repair and support services for accredited photographers using Canon cameras and lenses.

Canon Professional Services in the Main Press Center
Canon Professional Services (CPS) will be conveniently located inside the Main Press Centre in the Canada Place / Vancouver Convention Centre and at the Main Press Center in the Whistler Conference Centre.

CPS Repair and Loan Services Available
Canon Professional Services will have international staff on hand to assist accredited photographers with their Canon camera service needs. Clean and check service, and routine repairs for Canon cameras will be handled by our technicians on a complimentary basis with a targeted turn-around time of 12 hours.

Because of the nature of our temporary service facility, and the limited stock of spare parts that can be carried not all repairs can be done on site*. Canon will also provide a pool of back-up cameras and lenses to assist photographers while their equipment is being serviced, or as needed for special assignments. Loan equipment will include the EOS–1V, EOS-1D Mark III, EOS-1DS Mark III, EOS-1D Mark lV and EOS 5D Mark ll, Canon’s Image Stabilized telephoto lenses as well as accessories. Canon loan equipment will be available on a first come, first served basis for a maximum 24-hour loan period, upon photographer’s signature of a loan agreement form.

*Note: Only clean and check services will be available at the Whistler Media Centre. Any product requiring additional service will be sent to Vancouver. 12 hr service does not apply in these cases. For expedited repairs, photographers are encouraged to bring equipment to the Vancouver facility.

Want to Know More About Digital or our latest products?
Canon Professional Services staff will be available to familiarize photographers with the Canon EOS Digital cameras, as will as the rest of the Canon photo products and accessories line-up, including the all new 70-200 f2.8 L IS II USM.

Registration
Beginning at 9AM on February 10th accredited photographers are encouraged to visit the CPS Center to register for Canon repair and loan services.

For your convenience, please pre-register and and sign up for your party invitation at this website:

Canon Reception
On Thursday, February 11th (19:00-22:00), Canon and Nikon will host an opening reception at The Vancouver Aquarium. Please join us for refreshments and entertainment. (Space may be limited).

Note: Canon reserves the right to limit equipment loans and repair services. Canon would like to encourage photographers to have their equipment checked before coming to this event since facilities at the event are limited by space. Professional photographers are expected to have their own equipment, and CPS loans cannot be supplied as a substitute for equipment not owned. Equipment loans are made on a daily basis for a 24-hour period, and are the responsibility of the borrowing photographer to return on a timely basis. Photographers must register with Canon to receive services, and must sign a Canon loan agreement form to receive loan equipment. Admission to the Canon Professional Services Center is at Canon’s sole discretion, and Canon reserves the right to refuse admission or services.
