Profoto Pro-8A Air pack
Just a quick note to update you on a few Professional Product developments. Today I want to talk lighting. Now that Profoto has introduced their Pro Air system, most of the lighting companies offer a wireless control and trigger system. This gives the photographer full control, via a wireless radio controller, of their power packs and monolights. You also have wireless control capability from your Mac or PC.

Profoto recently introduced this feature on their new Pro-8A Air pack. This amazing new pack features a fast recycle time of 0.05-0.9 seconds, up to 20 flashes per second and a 1/12,000 s flash duration.

Not to be out done, Broncolor introduced their new power pack, Scoro. It features Broncolor's RFS, radio control system, true Asymmetric control of all tree channels, 0.02-1.0 second recycle time and a 1/12,000 s flash duration. Besides being able to program in the flash duration that you need, you can now also dial in the desired color temperature.

Elinchrom introduced their wireless Skyport RX system last year. It can be used to control and fire their RX power packs and monolights. But many people are using it as a triggering device for any strobe because of its performance and price.

Samy's Camera now stocks and rents these exciting new lighting systems.

In the Pro Digital Back world, the pixel count is increasing and the prices are dropping. Phase One, Hasselblad and Leaf are offering 50MP and 60MP digital backs and camera systems. And you can buy a new 28MP or 31MP camera system for under $16,000. There are also some amazing offerings from all of these companies on Factory Refurbished Demo backs with manufacturer warranties. Please call or email me if you would like more details.
