Equipment News and Notes

Here is the latest in equipment news and some specials from Roberts:

Nikon is expected to start releasing the new D1 Digital Camera within a few days. The street price is $4999.00 including a battery and charger. It uses compact flash memory cards. We are accepting orders on a first come, first served basis. An Nikon NPS number will help expedite your order.

More Nikon news...Several new products are expected to start delivery coinciding with the release of the D1 Digital Camera. The really good news is that the prices are somewhat less than originally anticipated. For instance the new AFS 17-35mm/2.8 D lens will sell for only $1499.00. The SB28DX Flash is only $399.00. This flash works on both the D1 AND most recent Nikon SLR cameras. The new 85mm/2.8 PC lens is only $1325.00...hood on this one is sold separately for about $15.00.

Canon news...Canon has now started delivery of ALL of the long Image Stabilized lenses. Unfortunately they are not getting in sufficient quantities to fill all of their orders yet...please be patient. Canon has also started rebates again on many products...good from October 1, 1999 until December 31, 1999. Included are the EOS1n and 1n RS...rebate amount is $150.00. The EF17-35mm/2.8, EF28-70mm/2.8 and EF70-200mm/2.8 lenses all offer rebates of $100.00. Several items have dropped in price such as the EOS3 and the 550 EX flash. Please call for details.

Basketball season is once again upon us. Please remember that we have a full line of lighting products available...including zip cord, add-a-taps, clamps and studs, safety cables, lexan covers, gaffer tape, Lowell extension poles, radio slaves and most brands of strobes. The new Pocket Wizard Max units are now in good supply. The trigger counter should prove to be a most useful feature for remote work. We also have a good supply of rubber lens hoods for you NBA shooters.
