NEWS from Nikon - WOWOWOWOW, Nikon's D90 DSLR was announced last week, the 1st DSLR that incorporates video into the body. At a very attractive price of just under $999 for the body, it makes a great addition to your bag. Here are just a few of the D90's features:

• 12.3-megapixel DX-format CMOS imaging sensor: Coupled with Nikon's EXPEED image processing technologies and NIKKOR optics, breathtaking image fidelity is assured.
• Continuous shooting as fast as 4.5 frames-per-second: Combined with fast 0.15ms power-up and split-second 65ms shooting lag, dramatic action and decisive moments are captured easily.
• D-Movie Mode-Cinematic 24fps HD with sound: Record cinematic-quality movie clips at up to 720p HD (1280 x 720 pixels) in Motion JPEG format, enhanced by NIKKOR interchangeable lens quality and versatility.
• Low noise ISO sensitivity from 200 to 3200: High signal-to-noise components and design deliver exceptional performance, even at high ISO setting.

NEWS from Canon: Another WOWOWOW, Canon has introduced the EOS 50D, with a 15.1 megapixel CMOS sensor. With ISO's up to 12800, and a new 3.0" "Clear View LCD", Face Detection Live Mode, and pile of other new functions, this is definitely a great addition to the EOS line up!! Here are just a few of the features:

• New 15.1 Megapixel CMOS sensor with improved noise reduction, wide range ISO 100-3200 (H1: 6400, H2: 12800), 14-bit conversion for smooth color tones and gradations.
• Next generation DIGIC 4 Image Processor for faster processing, 6.3 fps up to 90 JPEGS using UDMA CF cards; 60 consecutive JPEGS or 16 RAW using standard CF cards.
• 3.0-inch Clear View LCD (920,000 dots/VGA) with multiple coatings for improved viewing and smudge-resistant protection.
Enhanced Live View shooting includes Face Detection Live mode.

Now's the time to crank up your Cradlepoint router, so you can transmit images directly from your camera while on the sidelines. Cradlepoint's PHS-300 Personal WiFi Hotspot works along with your existing USB Cellular modem. I do have some pre-printed instructions from Cradlepoint, which I'd be happy to send you.
