Fun Pix suddenly a lot more fun
Think Tank Photo sponsorship brings search ability and a contest to the Fun Pix section

The first-ever photo contributed to the Fun Pix section is a picture of the Fun Pix section actually being built by Jason Burfield, SportsShooter.com's technical lead, in a California hotel room, back in November of 2003.

You've asked for an extra helping of fun and now SportsShooter.com has brought it to you. Thanks to our friends at Think Tank Photo, the "Fun Pix" section is now fully searchable, allowing you to easily locate the charming, the odd and the occasionally semi-embarrassing photos taken by SportsShooter.com members.
"With us having had so much fun working with the SportsShooter.com community, it seems only right that we'll be supporting the newly expanded Fun Pix section," said Doug Murdoch, Think Tank Photo's president and lead developer.
And just to make sure that you have a full serving of these images, we're also pleased to announce the new Fun Pix Photo Contest. Each month, our discerning Fun Pix Editor will select one image that best captures our monthly theme and the winning photographer will be awarded with a special prize from Think Tank Photo.
"We hope SportsShooter's members are looking forward to the monthly contests as much as we are," said Murdoch.
The contest is open to any active member of SportsShooter.com, and is different than the other contests within the site because it is meant to be as light-hearted as the section itself.
SportsShooter.com members have submitted more than 7,000 images since the section first launched, and it is one of the busiest places within the site.
"Requests to make the Fun Pix section searchable have been plentiful over the years," said Grover Sanschagrin, Executive Producer of SportsShooter.com. "We're really thrilled to have the support of the Think Tank Photo crew, which makes this section even more fun. Their sense of humor, and interest in our community, makes them incredibly fun to work with."
Think Tank Photo are the makers of innovative camera bags, cases, photo backpacks and beltpacks designed for professional photographers. Many of their product design ideas have come directly from SportsShooter.com members.
So, to all of you who have submitted images to Fun Pix before, consider this our challenge to you to go for the gold. And for those who have never submitted a Fun Pix, what are you waiting for?
