Sports Shooter Early Spring Specials from Roberts
By Jody Grober

Jody loves his new Tokina 12-24 zoom.
Greeting to one and all!

Top of the news: Canon has taken a very pro-active stance on the image-dropping situation with EOS-1DS MK II bodies. Press releases are due out soon and engineers are burning the midnight oil. Thank you Canon for the hard work!! The other half of this two-fork problem is also being addressed by the compact flash card manufacturer that usually shows up as part of the difficulties and upgrades will be forthcoming. Makes me all warm and fuzzy to see everyone working so nicely together!!!

I am hearing fantastic reviews from our customers that are getting Nikon's D2X. Actually, the least amount of belly aching for a new digi-cam for a long time … good to see that … so I don't keep having to remind myself that the photographer takes the picture, not the camera. The comments are especially good when the camera is wed with the 200/2.0 or the 200-400, which are both in stock. On a D2X that is a 6.8 Mp 400/2.0 at 8 frames per second!

Send me an email to get on the new and improved muzzle list. The new version will arrive in just a couple of weeks and the demand is growing.

The Think Tank Photo Airport Addicted backpack is still back ordered but most everything is in stock.

I have some of Versa-Flex's new basketball chair in stock for those who are doing the NBA Playoffs … I hope the Pacers manage to win a couple of games so maybe some shooters will come and visit.

My memory specials for the month are Lexar 4 Gb/80x cards at the old price of $399.97 and from Delkin, the 2Gb/50x at $169.00 and the 4Gb/50x at $299.00. Everything is while supplies last but my supply is pretty good.

I purchased a Tokina 12-24 f/4.0 for my personal use and I have been pretty impressed with it for only $499.00! It's compact and well built.

We have some nice used gear: From Canon some 1D bodies, 70-200s and 17-35s. From Nikon some D1X bodies, D1 bodies, 80-200s, 300 AF-Ss, 400 AF-Ss and more. Call Brock at 800-726-5544.
