Fall Classics: Samy's Specials for October
By Louis Feldman

Sam's Camera is now taking orders for the recently announced Canon EOS - 1Ds Mark 11. If you've been jones-ing for a digital camera sporting a full-frame, 11 meg-pixel imager, wide ISO range, 45-point AF … this baby is for you! Also from Canon, the hot, new 20D's are shipping on a regular basis so check with us for currently availability … and we are finally caught up on the 1D MK11 orders … so call one of our representatives now to get yours!

ATTENTION NIKON SHOPPERS … D2h and D70 are still very hot items and call us to get on the list for the new D2-x. After hearing all the rumors and then reading Mike Corrado's piece on (… the D2X looks to be a fabulous camera! A 12.4 mega-pixel CMOS, 5-fps or 8 fps in the unique "high-speed crop mode" … what's not to like? So call us now to get on "the list"!

For those photographers on - the - go, the SmartDisk FlashTrax (40 gb 80 gb) are in stock. This compact, unique device is basically a portable, handheld card "ingester". It allows you to clear off compact flash (or other storage media), view images as well as play back various file … all without a laptop.

Want to try to out-do's Brad Mangin in the "FunPix" area of the web site??? Well, you need to have a small point 7 shoot like Brad carries around with him at all times … Like the TINY Canon s410 s500. And if you want something BIGGER, with a few more features, check out the new PowerShot G6. For those Sports Shooters like Bert Hanashiro that like the Nikon P & S cameras, check out the CoolPix 5200 as well as the 8700 and the 4200 (all VERY popular items).

Did you see U2's Bono in the latest Apple ad for the very COOL Mini iPods??? Samy's now has them back in stock in all colors. We also have the iPod 40 gb and 20 gb model as well. There is nothing better than having an iPod with your favorite tunes to help pass the time on a flight, waiting in line at Canter's Deli or passing the time in that photo position waiting for the big game to start. (Plus it is just darn cool!)

Training camps opened this week for NBA teams (doesn't it seem like the Pistons won the NBA Championship just a couple of weeks ago???) so start thinking "hoops"! Is that old, beat-to-heck clamp ready to bust? So do you still have that OLD Magic Arm with the lever instead of the friction knob? Need to upgrade to the BEST in radio remotes, the LPA Designs MultiMax transceiver distributed by Mamiya? If you're heading to the Workshop & Luau like we are … you'll be seeing a lot of remote gear used in Darrell Miho's gym lighting class and Rod Mar's Jedi Master Basketball class. Give Samy's a call to get the latest and greatest gear for hanging remotes in those unique spots. OR … stop by our display in the trade show area of the Workshop & Luau.

Samy's Camera is a proud sponsor of the Workshop & Luau and we hope to see all of you in Redondo Beach on Nov. 5 - 6.

And lastly … it's October! The "Fall Classic" is just a week away … and I can't wait. So what was Curt Schilling thinking when he bashed the Yankee fans before game one of the ALCS? While I am disappointed that both LA teams were bounced out of the post-season in the first round … my Yankees look like a lock and will face the Cardinals in the World Series!
