Penn Camera's News & Notes
By Jeff Snyder

I was fortunate enough to spend last weekend at the Churchill Downs Sports Journalism Seminar in Louisville. Besides the incredible line up of instructors: Dave Black, Rick Rickman, Joe McNally, Skip Dickstein, Mike Corrado, Lucas Gilman and Bill Frakes, there was an amazing group of students. The 20 juniors & seniors were so talented and the images they turned out showed us all more and more promise each day. I'd highly recommend taking a look throughout and visiting the pages of the student members, you'll be blown away! Take a look at the links here:

Nikon's SB800
FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY…Canon's EOS1D-Mark II's have begun to arrive. I'd like to thank all of you for being so patient during the long period that we've ALL been waiting. As you can imagine, I've been inundated with Instant Messages, Emails and phone calls by so many customers, wondering where their cameras are. Believe me when I tell you, that we want you to have them, as badly as you want them. Many of you are probably going to be getting a call during the 2nd round of deliveries. Keep your fingers crossed that it'll be sooner than later. Canon's rebate program in effect at this time too on many lenses, binoculars and flashes…

Nikon's D2H's are in stock, and continue to sell everyday. The D70, Nikon's entry level digital SLR has been getting rave reviews by our customer. This is a great backup body for the professional as well as beginner. Have you seen the 10.5 f2.8 G/AF lens? Full frame fish-eye on a digital body, and with Nikon Capture 4 software, with one click of a button, all of the curved lines can be straightened out…It's something to see! Nikon's SB800 strobe is a tool that every Nikon owner should look twice at. Wireless remote TTL flash, with up to 100's of strobes, all controlled from the main on camera unit. Just think of the possibilities! Joe McNally led a breakout session last weekend, and demonstrated how simple it really is. With the help of a new Bogen clamp, called the "Justin Clamp", you can mount SB800's just about anywhere. I'll have some of the new clamps very soon, with pricing, so contact me if you're interested.
