The Los Angeles Times' Rick Loomis, SI and Life magazine legend Bill Eppridge, USA TODAY's Jack Gruber, Eugene Register-Guard's Brian Davies and Washington DC freelance photographer Matt Mendelsohn highlight the speakers at the Sports Shooter Workshop & Luau 2004, November 5 - 6.

Held this year at the Redondo Beach Marina Crowne Plaza Hotel, The Luau will have 19 different breakout sessions, ranging from Eppridge's "Picture Stories & Projects" to "Video Basics for Still Photographers" to "The Hitchhiker's Guide to Freelance Photography" to Davies "Community Journalism: Pursuing passion in small-town photojournalism".

The Luau will also have the very popular "Sports Shooter Jedi Master Series" with the Seattle Times' Rod Mar teaching a class on covering basketball and Bay Area freelance sports shooter Brad Mangin leading a class on shooting baseball.

Also, Darrell Miho will turn the main ballroom into a high school gymnasium to teach a course on sports lighting.

The Workshop & Luau will also have two nights of one-on-one portfolio reviews with members of the faculty and area picture editors and photographers. There will also be an expanded trade show.

Registration will begin in early April. Keep an eye on your email and SportsShooter.com for details.
