V.J. Lovero: 1959 - 2004

After a 4 year battle with cancer, longtime Sports Illustrated photographer, Anaheim Angel's team photographer and SportsShooter.com member, V.J. Lovero passed away on January 12, 2004, at 5:30 AM at Hoag Memorial Presbyterian Hospital in Newport Beach, Calif.

At his side were family and friends.

V.J. is survived by his wife Trish and two sons, John, 16, and Jay, 13.

V.J. will be missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2004 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Edward Catholic Church - 33926 Calle La Primavera, Dana Point, Calif.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday, January 16, 2004 at the Holy Family Cathedral, 566 South Glassell Street in Orange, Calif. (714) 639-2900

Burial will take place on Friday January 16, 2004 at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, 7845 Santiago Canyon Rd., Orange, CA, 92669

The Reception will follow on Friday, January 16, 2004 at the Diamond Club at Anaheim Stadium.
