Early Fall News & Notes from Penn Camera
By Jeff Snyder

Are you ready for some Football ? Football season gets underway in just a few short days, with the Redskins hosting the Jets here in DC (well actually Landover, MD). The night will be exciting, with the NFL Experience coming to DC along with a show from Brittany Spears, Mary J. Blige, Aretha Franklin and Aerosmith. So the Washington Monument will be rockin!!

Shooting Football = Sore Knees!

Try these! PATELLA Kneeware is the leader in knee protection.: Patella-T Orthopedic Kneeware provides pressure dispersion with the use of a fluid-filled "fluid pack", minimizing the risk of long term knee injuries. And, they are excellent in aiding in the recovery of previously injured knees. The Patella-T Non-Wedge style is designed for kneeling with side-to-side motion or kneeling on crossed legs. You'll be amazed at the difference in the way you'll feel! $75/Pair.

NIKON has announced the new D2H, along with 10.5mm, 17-55, and a 200-400 AFS-VR lens. Also, the new SB800 Speedlight will be very exciting. These announcements are old news at this point, and we're all waiting patiently for the final pricing and delivery dates. If you're interested in these, contact us for pre-orders.....All I can say is that I had the D2H in my hands for a few minutes last week, and although a prototype ( NO, I couldn't touch the files), the camera seems a bit sleeker than the D1X/H, and maybe a bit lighter...The LCD screen is noticeably larger, and the control buttons are so much easier to get to....It looks like it'll be a very exciting Fall!

Canon Digital Rebel
CANON has announced the new Digital Rebel. This will create havoc among the amateur photographers in the family. Everyone will want one! If you're old enough, my analogy is that this will be like the AE-1 revolution that Canon created way back when. It has a 6.3 megapixel CMOS sensor, and accept all the Canon AF lenses....RAW and JPG Files and built in motor drive at 2.5 fps....Plus, it can be supplied with their new 18-55 f2.5-5.6 EF Zoom, at a suggested selling price of $999....W O W...So for all of the pros out there with relatives/wives/friends that have Canon AF lenses, be prepared for the "what do I do now" questions. We expect delivery to be sometime in September! We saw and played with the Digital Rebel today, and it's very nice...feels good and it's easy to operate....

Along with the kneepads for football, make sure that your gear is properly protected from the elements.....We stock not only the fantastic AQUATECH Rain Shield, but also for the budget minded the Photo-Fax Rain Covers.

As always, we have the supplies you need for digital printers from
Fuji and Kodak......Inkjet materials from Epson, HP, Konica and Ilford.

Did you know? Penn Camera is an authorized APPLE Dealer: contact us for pricing on your desired configuration!

Much more for the Fall season to follow as the information becomes available on new and exciting products.
