Darrell Miho's Message: Spring, 2012 - A year after Northeastern Japan was devastated by a magnitude 9.0 earthquake, tsunami and nuclear crisis, recovery efforts continue as the people and the government rebuild their lives and their communities.

Over 15,800 people are confirmed dead and another 3,000+ are still missing.

I went back to some of the places I photographed a year ago to show the progress that has been made.

As journalists, our job is to document and tell stories. As people, our responsibility is to help people in need. So my friend and I have taken it upon ourselves to do what we can to help those in need.

We have met with many of the survivors and we have identified specific needs that they have requested and would greatly improve the quality of life.

Please visit our website to see how you can help the people of Japan.
