->> Surfing member pages I came across Rod Mars and found a picture of Robert Hanashiro and Ronal Taniwaki and a Laptop. In the caption it reads there looking a images from the Nikon D2.
Is this true? or is Rod just pulling our leg. Can it be a real new Digital. Is Nikon like a Phoenix rising out of the digital ashes.
check it out for yourself:

->> So it seems Nikon has a D2? If this is coming could someone let us know something about it, and a possible delivery date? We have all been waiting to hear something from Nikon. Robert Hanashiro could you give us a little info if this is true?

->> Read Rod Mar's page at the bottom...It was a joke!
Besides, Nikon is STILL trying to figure out just how to compare to the Canon 1-D :) |

->> Robert:
I met somebody at the tournament that had used a Nikon prototype a few months ago. They asked him to take it to a rink and shoot hockey with it and bring it right back. He said it was very blocky, and probably just an engineering prototype, not even near a finished product.
He thought it created 48mb files. I assume he was probably seeing 16bit files opened in Photoshop. They are quite a bit bigger than 8bit files.
His one comment is the new cameras are creating such huge files, you practically need a super computer to manipulate them (at least in quantity). |

| ->> I have a friend who's sister is married to a guy who worked with some person who's third cousin was a rep for a company that did some outsourcing for a firm in Amsterdam who overheard a phone call from a person in a black hat that said that they heard (second hand) via an intercepted cell phone call that someone, somewhere, is building a new camera that will be,"really cool." |

->> My Great Aunt Bertha used the D2 and told me yesterday that it was better than anything she had ever used before. She told me that if I used it in my coffee maker it will take out all the scale and will also polish brass. She loved it!!!! I don't understand why they're keeping it such a secret.

->> Rick--
Will it clean copper, too? I have these pots that nothing seems to work on...
(Seriously, if anyone has any suggestions, let me know. Besides, a discussion on cleaning kitchenware has to be more constructive than agonizing over a new camera that doesn't exist yet...) |

->> I was being obtuse not to identify the tester. He may have actually been using the 14n, but he said it was not a 14n, but some sort of mock up. It was Nikon that gave him the camera to test. Make your own conclusions.
I was talking directly to the tester, not his wife's, sister's, hairdresser.
I am not a Nikon shooter, so I should care less. In the end, it may just have been a Kodak 14n. |

->> This place on Long Island, http://megapixel-digital-imaging-systems.com, used to have the D2h/D2x listed on their web site. I e-mailed them a while ago (I know a dozen other photogs who e-mailed them as well) and the D2 series bodies were taken off their site.
The person who e-mailed me back state they expect the D2 to be in their warehouse soon.....I don't think they are on top of the industry the way they should be. |
