->> I did not get accepted and am apparently wait-listed. This part of their reply leads me to think they misunderstood my eligibility: "Please keep in mind this is an annual seminar for full-time college juniors and seniors in undergraduate programs, and we encourage you to apply again next year if you are still eligible."

Loyalist's PhoJo programs are only two years long, so even as a graduating student, I will not be eligible to apply next year. I sent them a reply to this effect, but I am doubtful that it will make a difference. Do they still consider me a sophomore and not a senior?

I am curious to know if students from Canadian programs have gotten in, now or before. I haven't met any, yet... I know that I don't have all these big-time NCAA shots in my portfolio, but it would be a shame if we were excluded because of where we come from.

I'm guessing the reply was not directed at you in particular, but rather just letting people know that if they are currently a junior, they can always apply again next year during their senior year.

You do not have to bring ANY GEAR!!!! Seriously, Carol Fisher and the other nice folks from Nikon will have everything you need. You should not need a tripod, but anything you can think of they will have.
Just pack light, use their stuff. But be sure to bring cold weather and rain gear. Check the temp in Louisville before packing.

as paul so eloquently put it, "Carol Fisher and the other nice folks from Nikon will have everything you need."

however, if i remember correctly, they didn't have any tripods. i think it's because no one used them last year. you will be walking around for a few hours at a time and you probably will not want to lug it all over the place. but ... if you feel like you will want it, bring it.

just make sure you get plenty of sleep leading up to the weekend ....

They are calling for a chance of rain all week (ranging from 20 to 50 percent), with about the same for the following week. But -- as I posted earlier -- this *IS* the Ohio Valley. They are lucky to nail a forecast for the next couple of days, much less two weeks in advance.
