->> Kurt,
I was wondering what lens do you use for your surfing photography and do you shoot mostly from the shore or do you venture out on to a jetty to get some of your shots?

Great pics, as usual. I envy you left coasters with the sun in the right spot at the right time ;) Great morning surf with the nice backlight is no fun at all!

Keep up the good work.

->> Some of those are shot with a 400 2.8L and 1.4xII or 2xII.
The rest were with a 600 f4L.

I always shoot from the beach.

I'll be having a housing built for my 1D-II's soon, to get in the water.

Morning surf is great at most break, but at some facing South, it's backlit all day.
I can't complain though.... ;-)

->> Great shots! I keep seeing that shot with the dolphin everywhere, just saw it in a wildlife mag on the inside of the back cover!
Kind of weird just watched the movie "Blue Crush" last night with my family. My wife laughed at me for checking out the lens. Any of them you?

->> Not me on Blue Crush.
I might be working as a camera operator on Lords of Dogtown though, in April. A skateboarding flick written by Stacy Peralta.

That Dolphin shot has brought in some nice revenue this year.
Been it about 11 magazines world wide.

Isn't it Dogtown and the Z-Boys? I saw that movie the other week and thought it was hilarious! The vintage footage was excellent and it reminded me of my younger "skate" days.

Is Lords of Dogtown a sequel? That would be interesting!

->> Lords of Dogtown, is a fictional story based on the Dogtown and the Z Boys documentary.
Stacy Peralta wrote the script, along with the woman that is directing the film.
(can't remember her name)
Heath Ledger is starring in it. It will start shooting in April and probably hit theatres by years end.

I think mine was a Zeller's Firefly.

->> Jim,
I mainly shoot in SD or Ventura Co.'s.......
The Doc was awesome and I hope I get to do this movie. It'll be a blast for me.
I had many a Powell/Peralta deck, back in the day.
El Porto is a good place to shoot, close to your area.
